History Hints at Strong P.G.A. for Jordan Spieth, and Oddsmakers Agree

The hype is not as great as it would be if a Grand Slam were on the line, but anticipation will be high next month to see whether Jordan Spieth can win major No. 3 in the P.G.A. Championship.

Winning two of the first three majors, as Spieth has, is not an extremely rare feat, though those who have done it have almost all been among the game’s best players.

Since 1953, when Ben Hogan won the first three majors, then skipped the P.G.A. because it then overlapped with the British Open, 13 players before Spieth had won two of the first three.
