NASSAU, Bahamas -- This Atlantic Ocean island locale that is not only a getaway for Tiger Woods but now the venue for his annual tournament seems an odd place for a dateline that has become so definitive in his latest career arc.
The Bahamas in general and the Albany Golf Club (just 200-some miles from Woods' Florida home) in particular offer excellent points of reference for his resurgence, from the doom-and-gloom scenario he himself presented in 2015 to the far-too-much optimism he elicited in 2016 to last year's guarded-but-hopeful reemergence on the national golf scene.
Woods returns to the Hero Challenge this week as more than a curiosity and more than just the host.
