Back in January, Brooke Henderson faced a 15-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole of a SunCoast event to win her first professional title. The expression on her face though, concerned Tristan Mullally, her caddie and the Canadian National Team Coach.
Mullally asked Henderson what was going through her mind.
“Do you think they’d let us tie?” she replied.
Henderson was playing alongside older sister, Brittany, and they were knotted at the top of the leaderboard. Mullally reminded his player that Brittany wouldn’t want her sister giving anything less than 100 percent.
Brooke, 17, drained the putt.
