AUSTIN, Texas – It’s not exactly ideal to play the consolation match at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, but for Bill Haas there is something to be said for competitive pride.
Although the winner of the consolation match receives more FedEx Cup points and a larger share of the purse, for Haas – who lost to runner-up Jon Rahm, 3 and 2, in Sunday’s semifinal – if he was going to play he was going to make the most of it against Hideto Tanihara in the undercard bout.
