Greg Norman is out as lead golf analyst for Fox Sports.
Fox and Norman parted company Jan. 15, according to Fox Sports sources. Links Magazine was the first to report the news Jan. 17.
Fox Sports hired Norman to be the front man for its live golf broadcasts after it won the rights to air U.S. Golf Association championships. Norman was a natural choice given his high profile and his close ties to senior Fox executives dating back several decades.
Norman, however, struggled in his new role. He was hired to be Fox Sports’ main voice, but he was uncommonly reticent in the 18th tower.
