SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – A late charge up the leaderboard ultimately ran out of steam for Branden Grace at the PGA Championship.

After starting the final round five shots off the lead, Grace got to within one shot of Jimmy Walker’s mark after a birdie on No. 13. But a three-putt bogey on No. 16 negated his momentum, and his title chances ended when he rinsed his tee shot on No. 18.

“I thought I hit a good putt out on 16,” Grace said. “I didn’t take advantage of 18. I really had to get aggressive and it backfired.
