Gore gets in Memorial, but has long road to U.S. Open

DUBLIN, Ohio – This week’s Memorial gives players who are not already exempt two chances to qualify for the U.S. Open, either through the World Golf Ranking or Monday’s 36-hole qualifier.

The Columbus, Ohio, qualifier is loaded with PGA Tour players, including last week’s winner Steven Bowditch, but one player in the field at Muirfield Village who won’t be at the Brookside and Lakes courses on Monday is Jason Gore.

Gore is scheduled to play the qualifier on Monday in Newport Beach, Calif., which was closest to his home in Valencia.
