Following his second PGA Tour win in a little more than six months, Fabian Gomez has reached uncharted territory in the Official World Golf Rankings.
The Argentine defeated Brandt Snedeker in a playoff Sunday to capture the Sony Open in Hawaii, a win that followed his breakthrough title at the FedEx St. Jude Classic last summer. As a result, Gomez moved up 57 spots to No. 55 in the latest world rankings.
It marks the highest career ranking for the 37-year-old, who was toiling on the Web.
