Golfweek PostGame: Love wins Wyndham; Tiger grabs top 10

Rarely do your eyes wander too far down the FedEx Cup standings when you look for players to generate excitement. Certainly you wouldn’t expect to drift down to Nos. 187 and 186.

But that was the case for the fortuitous fans at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, because not only did Tiger Woods (Mr. 187) dominate the spotlight with his most tantalizing dance with victory since 2013, but Davis Love III (Mr. 186) stole his thunder Sunday to become the third-oldest winner in PGA Tour history.

At 51 years 4 months, Love didn’t quite match the timelessness of Sam Snead, who won his eighth Greensboro title at the age of 52 in 1965, but it’s hard to say that he didn’t do the impossible.
