There were missed cuts in his first 21 tournaments after turning professional as a teenager in 1998. So when he failed to win any of the 160 PGA Tour tournaments in which he played between 1999 and the spring of 2010, Justin Rose had a reservoir of patience from which to draw upon.
Consider it well used, too, because from an early career that featured a string of winless seasons, Rose has developed into one of the PGA Tour’s steadiest forces. Fittingly, his latest triumph also required a few layers of patience, because after taking it on the chin from a series of weather delays Friday and Saturday, the field at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans was forced into a marathon finish Sunday.
