GB&I fights back to tie PGA Cup

SAN MARTIN, Calif. — Irishman Niall Kearney shifted the momentum in Great Britain and Ireland’s favor with two birdies over the last three holes, but Omar Uresti snatched it back for the United States with an eagle at the final hole, sending the 27th PGA Cup into the second-day afternoon session tied, 6-6, at CordeValle.

The PGA Cup is an international match-play competition featuring a team of club and teaching professionals from the United States against Great Britain and Ireland. The U.S. has never lost at home, leads the overall series 17-5-4, and has dropped just one match since 1984.
