LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Jim Furyk called it a day at the BMW Championship when a left wrist injury forced him off the course at Conway Farms after just six holes.

Furyk, a former U.S. Open champion and the FedEx Cup champion in 2010, was 1-over par at the time. He's in ninth place in golf's playoff race and could return next week for the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta.
