LANCASTER, Pa. – Jim Furyk knows the test awaiting the field at the U.S. Women’s Open this week.
The PGA Tour veteran, winner of the 2003 U.S. Open at Olympia Fields in suburban Chicago, grew up playing Lancaster Country Club, host to the U.S. Women’s Open. Furyk played high school golf for nearby Manheim Township High in Lancaster County.
“I probably played two or three days a week there in the fall during the high school golf season,” Furyk told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It was a treat that our school was allowed to call Lancaster Country Club home.
