WOBURN, England – Karrie Webb went back to the scene at Woburn Golf Club to re-create one of the most memorable shots of her career. It was 1995 on the Duke Course, and Webb held a five-shot lead at the Weetabix Women’s British Open when she came to the 16th hole.
Stuck behind a tree as she tried to approach the green, the 20-year-old Webb grabbed her 7-iron and opted to hit through an estimated 6-foot gap in the limbs. The ball split the goalpost and ran onto the green on a course that was dried out and playing firm.
