Justine Dreher was 25 minutes outside of Paris and enjoying dinner at her boyfriend’s house when terrorists struck the City of Light. The former South Carolina standout was joined by friend and compatriot Ines Lescudier, who played college golf at Kennesaw State. Because they had the TV switched off and stayed off their phones, Dreher didn’t know of the horror that unfolded Nov. 13 until she returned to her Paris apartment at about 11 p.m.
“I immediately looked at the news and social media and was in shock,” Dreher wrote Golfweek in an email.
Dreher, a 2015 South Carolina graduate and first-team All-American, said her parents live in the south of France and texted their children for updates.
