Rickie Fowler made the trip overseas to prepare for the British Open, but he might play his way into a European Tour title in the process.
Fowler, 26, is two shots off of Daniel Brooks' 54-hole lead at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open after a third-round 4-under 66. He made an eagle at the par-5 16th on a day where he needed 26 putts in total.
"The big key is preparation for next week," Fowler said in a release. "Not just playing the week before but also playing on a links golf course and having the opportunity to be in contention, it's only going to help me for next week.
