SAN DIEGO – So much for easing into the new year.
After a fifth-place showing at the Tournament of Champions and a resounding victory last week at the star-studded Abu Dhabi Championship, Rickie Fowler roars into Torrey Pines with confidence and a new attitude.
“It put me in a mindset of being a little bit more aggressive and playing a little bit more offensively instead of trying to just get things going at the beginning of the season,” he said Wednesday at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Abu Dhabi was Fowler’s fourth title in his last 18 starts, tied with Jason Day for the most wins over that span.
