ATLANTA – The Player of the Year voting is complicated enough without adding more uncertainty to already cloudy waters.
At least that was Rickie Fowler’s take when he was asked on Tuesday at East Lake if he could add his name to the balloting for the Jack Nicklaus Award with a big finish this week.
Fowler, who won the Deutsche Bank Championship three weeks ago to move into the top 5 on the FedEx Cup point list, was asked if a victory on Sunday for either himself or Rory McIlroy could lead to a third candidate in the POY voting.
