After helping Great Britain and Ireland to a Walker Cup victory last month, Paul Dunne and Jimmy Mullen made their professional debuts Thursday at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
So far, so good for the youngsters.
Dunne and Mullen each shot 8-under 64 at Kingsbarns to grab a share of the first-round lead along with Sweden's Kristoffer Broberg, who fired his 64 at St. Andrews. Carnoustie is the third course being used at this European Tour event.
Dunne, 22, who last July became the first amateur in 88 years to hold the 54-hole lead at the British Open, made an ace on the par-3 15th to go along with eight birdies.
