The first edition of the Diamond Resorts Invitational had a clear winner for most of the tournament, as Mardy Fish controlled the action nearly from start to finish in capturing the inaugural crown.

Fish, a six-time ATP winner who retired from tennis last year after the U.S. Open, posted a three-day total of 79 points in the modified Stableford event for celebrity athletes and entertainers.

That total beat out his closest competition Rick Rhoden, who has three career Champions Tour top 10s and eight wins in the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic, by 14 points. John Smoltz was third at the Golden Bear Club at Keene's Point with 62 points, and fellow Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine was another point back.
