Angel Yin makes her debut as a Ladies European Tour member this week at the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open. Yin, 17, advanced through LET qualifying to earn full status and turned professional on Jan. 1.
“Since I made it through Let Q-School, I decided to give it a shot and see how it goes,” Yin wrote in an email from Christchurch.
Yin was No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings when she turned professional and abandoned plans to attend USC. The California native missed the cut in last week’s Oates Vic Open, won by 19-year-old Georgia Hall.
