ORLANDO, Fla. – After 43 years as executive director of the Metropolitan PGA, Charlie Robson officially passed the torch to his right-hand man, Jeff Voorheis, on Jan. 1. But with two Met PGA members being honored this evening at the PGA Merchandise Show – Matt Dobyns of Fresh Meadows Country Club as PGA Professional Player of the Year and Tom Henderson of Round Hill Country Club as PGA Golf Professional of the Year – it seemed only fitting to recognize Robson’s remarkable tenure at the event, too.
Robson, a Long Island native, has proudly represented the 700-plus club professionals and more than 100 apprentices that make up one of golf’s most distinguished sections.
