Former Asia-Pacific Amateur champion Antonio Murdaca turned professional and will play in his first event as a professional next week at the PGA Tour of Australasia’s Fiji International at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.
Murdaca, 20, finished sixth in defending his title last week at the Asia-Pacific Amateur in Hong Kong and decided it was time to make the jump to the professional ranks.
“After a long and successful amateur career, I feel it’s time to make the next step,” Murdaca said in a press release from his agency, International Sports Management. “I am ready to turn professional and start the next leg of my ongoing golf journey.
