For Your Game with Purdue women's golf coach Devon Brouse

Want to play better golf? Go ahead and practice chipping and full swings. Every player needs a solid swing and repeatable mechanics.

Want to go past basic mechanical improvement and truly excel at any level? Then look beyond the swing and focus on attitude and mental toughness.

That’s the message from Devon Brouse, Purdue’s women’s coach and director of golf, who has spent 38 years helping young players morph into college and professional standouts.

“You see these good players, and I would say their improvement does not come from technique and mechanics and the full swing,” Brouse said.
