Matthew Fitzpatrick is now knocking on the door of golf's biggest events.
With his win at the British Masters, his first as a professional, the 21-year-old European Tour rookie jumped from 111th to 59th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Although the calendar cut-offs aren't for months, the Masters and the U.S. Open invite the 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking, while the Open Championship includes the top 60. Likewise, the WGC-Cadillac, WGC-Bridgestone and the Players Championship fields include the top 50 players, while the WGC-Match Play comprises its bracket of the world's top 64.
