Fisher survives visa scare, in hunt at BMW Masters

The global player faces plenty of peril: jet lag, food poisoning, lost luggage and equipment. And, each week it seems, the dreaded visa issue. It was Ross Fisher's turn to experience the latter ahead of this week's BMW Masters in Shanghai, China.

Fisher competed in last week's WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, at Sheshan International, tying for third place. Trying to continue his good play this week at nearby Lake Malaren Golf Club, the Englishman ran into problems. This, according to the Associated Press:

Fisher, who had six birdies and no bogeys in his round of 66, almost didn't play this week after receiving only a 10-day visa from the Chinese government before last week's HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
