ATLANTA – After 10 seasons it’s clear the FedEx Cup is still a work in progress, even though most players appear to be pleased with how the points are now distributed.
One potential alteration that has been circulating in recent months is a reduction in the number of playoff events, which would allow for an earlier finish to the season.
On Tuesday at the Tour Championship, PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem was asked if the circuit would consider cutting a postseason stop.
“If something's really working well, we kick the tires pretty hard for a while before we mess around with it, and it's working pretty well,” Finchem said.
