AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Tim Finchem has signed on for one more year as the PGA Tour commissioner, even though he might not stay that long.

Finchem has been commissioner since 1994. His latest contract was to expire on June 1, but he said Sunday at the Dell Match Play that the PGA Tour board extended his contract until June 2017.

Finchem still doesn't think he will stay in charge that long.

Earlier this week, deputy commissioner Jay Monahan was given the title of chief operating officer. Finchem says Monahan already has been running the day-to-day operations of the tour.
