Hideki Matsuyama started off the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship that propelled him up to third in the playoff standings.
Matsuyama finished his rollercoaster final round with a two-shot advantage over Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland.
While Matsuyama's jump from eighth to third in the FedEx Cup standings was nice, there were other more significant movers who kept their seasons alive in Memphis.
Matsuyama's Sunday playing partner, Nick Dunlap, was one of two golfers who moved more than 15 spots in the playoff standings and into the top 50 with a top-five finish.
