Former PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner defeated Sweden's David Lingmerth on the second playoff hole to win the CareerBuilder Challenge at the PGA West's TPC Stadium Course in La Quinta, Calif.
Three other Americans joined Dufner on the podium as Andrew Loupe, Phil Mickelson and Kevin Na all shared third.
Dufner and Lingmerth both posted 25-under 263 on the back of very solid ballstriking and excellent putting. Dufner was almost done and dusted in regulation as his tee shot on No. 17, the par-3, island green, found the hazard. His subsequent chip hit the stick and stopped stone dead less than a foot away.
