Juli Inkster said from the start that today would be the worst day of her life. And that was before Paula Creamer needed a pick to make this year’s Solheim Cup team. Inkster, Creamer’s idol and close friend, has dreaded having to make those you’re-not-on-the-team phone calls since she was named U.S. captain.
On paper, it doesn’t look good for the 29-year-old Creamer. She has missed her last three cuts. She shot 81 in Round 2 of the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open, closing with a back-nine 42. Her stroke average the past three tournaments: 74.5.
What will Inkster do?
