The European Tour is set to unveil significant changes for 2016, including the elimination of a Final Series event and a tweak to the membership requirements.
The Final Series – the four-event finale that culminates with next week’s DP World Tour Championship in Dubai – will be cut from four tournaments to three, with the WGC-HSBC Champions moving out of the rotation, according to a report Tuesday by the Telegraph.
Only the top 50 players in the world qualify for the World Golf Championships event in Shanghai, which the tour views as too restrictive for a Final Series event.
