ESPN has pulled its ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic from Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles in the wake of business magnate Donald Trump's recent derogatory remark about Mexicans.
ESPN announced Monday that is moved the event, which is scheduled for July 14 and benefits The V Foundation's Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, to Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Beach, Calif. Pelican Hill's North and South courses rank among Golfweek's Best Resort Courses.
ESPN released the following statement:
“We decided it was appropriate to change the venue, and are grateful for the opportunity to stage the event at Pelican Hill on short notice.
