There may have been a little something extra behind Austin Ernst's 7-under 65 Friday at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.
Ernst, a 23-year-old out of Greenville, S.C., did her best to prove she belongs on the 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup squad, which she missed out on after Paula Creamer and Brittany Lang were selected as captain's picks Monday.
"I was disappointed not to be on that team," said Ernst after her second round in Prattville, Ala. "But I've kind of used that as motivation for the future.
