English two back thanks to improved accuracy at Colonial

FORT WORTH, Texas – As he began a promising professional career five years ago, finding greens was not a problem for Harris English.

In fact, he ranked as high as 17th in GIR percentage during the 2013-14 season, a campaign that saw him win the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. But that remains English’s most recent victory, and this year his accuracy has begun to waver. He currently stands 115th in greens hit this season, and he is without a top-10 finish since early March.

Those trends, however, appear on the verge of a turnaround after English regained his approach prowess during the third round of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, finding 17 of 18 greens in regulation en route to a 6-under 64 that left him two shots behind Jordan Spieth.
