PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Dustin Johnson’s love affair with Riviera Country Club continued on Friday. The 31-year-old Johnson, who has finished runner-up at the Northern Trust Open the last two years, posted an effortless 5-under 66 to improve to 8-under 134 through 36 holes.
“I like where I’m at,” said Johnson, who was tied atop the leaderboard with Troy Merritt among the morning finishers. “I’m swinging pretty good, too, so that helps.”
Swinging his new TaylorMade M2 driver, which he inserted in the bag this week, well enough on a brisk Friday to impress fellow playing competitor Adam Scott.
