AKRON, Ohio – In his last two starts, Dustin Johnson has gone from tormented on the weekend to cold-blooded closer.
At the WGC Bridgestone Invitational, he chased down World No. 1 Jason Day to win his second straight tournament. Johnson, who ended a 15-month stretch without a trophy when he rallied from four strokes back in the final round to win the U.S. Open, came from three strokes off the pace this time with a final-round 66 to win by one-stroke over Scott Piercy.
About the hardest struggle for Johnson, 32, was chasing after his 15-month-old son Tatum as he waited to see if his lead would hold up.
