Ireland’s Leona Maguire has won the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the top female amateur in 2015. Maguire, Golfweek’s No. 1 college player as a freshman at Duke, also topped the World Amateur Golf Ranking, established in 2011 for women by the R&A and USGA.
In addition to her three titles at Duke – the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, the ACC Championship and the NCAA South Bend Regional – Maguire also finished runner-up to Beth Allen at the ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters at Buckinghamshire Golf Club last month.
Maguire, 20, won the stroke-play qualifier at the Ladies British Open Amateur at Portstewart and reached the Round of 16.
