When's the last time you won, Jason Dufner? How about right now.
Dufner broke a three-year PGA Tour victory drought on Sunday, earning the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge title with a par on the second playoff hole at PGA West's TPC Stadium Course. And the path to victory proved even more trying than that implies.
After nearly throwing away his tournament with a pulled tee shot on 17, Dufner scrambled for a miraculous par and then narrowly missed out on a birdie putt for 26 under and the win at the next. On the opening playoff hole, Dufner calmly holed a 12-footer to extend the action, and when competitor David Lingmerth saw his approach shot at the following hole ricochet into the water, Dufner knocked his ball on the green and two-putted for the win.
