Dredge takes M2M Russian Open lead, Pavlov makes history

Bradley Dredge took the 36-hole lead at the European Tour's M2M Russian Open after shooting a second-straight round of 5-under 66.

Dredge, a 42-year-old two-time European Tour winner, went bogey-free on the day at Skolkovo Golf Club in Moscow.

"If I can keep that going and improve my iron play a little bit then that will be good for the weekend," said Dredge in a European Tour release. "I’m delighted. Back-to-back 66s and no dropped shots. I’m very pleased with that."

While Dredge took the lead, Andrey Pavlov made history. Pavlov, who made headlines earlier in the year for less-than-desirable reasons, became the first Russian to make a European Tour cut after shooting a 2-under 69 Friday to get into a tie for 57th.
