Donald Trump reportedly threatened legal action against the U.S. Golf Association if it moved this year's U.S. Women's Open from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminister, New Jersey, USA Today's Christine Brennan reported Monday.
According to Brennan, USGA executive director Mike Davis informed the group's executive committee of the threat two years ago. Davis reportedly said the USGA "can't get out of this" and that Trump was "going to sue us" if the USGA made a switch.
At the time, Trump's presidential campaign was in its infancy.
