Donald Trump-licensed club in Puerto Rico seeks bankruptcy protection

Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico filed for bankruptcy protection July 13, according to Bloomberg.com, which cited court documents.

Donald Trump, the billionaire developer who recently declared his bid for the Republican nomination for president, does not own the club in Rio Grande but licenses his name to the facility and manages the two Tom Kite-designed golf courses.

“We have zero financial investment in this course,” Eric Trump, the businessman’s son and an executive with The Trump Organization, told Bloomberg. “This has absolutely nothing to do with Trump. This is a separate owner. We purely manage the golf course.
