WOBURN, England –– Luke Donald is looking for a new caddie after he and longtime looper John McLaren split recently, the former World No. 1 revealed after the first round of the £3 million British Masters at Woburn Golf Club.
Donald, who trails compatriot Mathew Fitzpatrick by three shots after a 4-under 67, has Dean Elliott carrying the bag for him this week. Elliott, longtime caddie for Stephen Ames, is one of several caddies the Englishman intends to “audition” between now and the end of the season.
“He just said I feel like it’s time for a change and to move on,” Donald said about McLaren’s reasons for the split.
