UNIVERSITY PARK, Wash. – When he steps to the first tee Thursday afternoon for the first round of the 115th U.S. Open, Justin Rose won’t have to introduce himself to playing competitor Jordan Spieth.
“I’ve gotten to learn his game pretty well,” Rose said with a smile, explaining that already this season he’s been paired with him for two rounds at the Shell Houston Open, one at the Masters and two more at the Memorial. “Pretty fresh in my memory.”
The pairing that provided the most flavor, of course, was their fourth round at Augusta National, for Rose early on challenged Spieth’s lead, only to see the young man hold on down the stretch.
