Graham DeLaet fought his way to an even-par 72 Thursday at the Canadian Open after injuring his hand on the 12th hole.
DeLaet hit his tee ball at the par 3 and felt pain in his left thumb.
“I’m not really sure,” he told Golf Channel’s Angela Hamann when asked to explain what happened. “On the 12th hole, I hit my tee shot a little bit heavy and it just kind of jammed in there.”
DeLaet struggled to release the club for the remainder of the round but went on to par his next four holes before closing with birdie-double bogey-birdie.
