Defending champ Lee (wrist) out of Meijer Classic

Defending champion Mirim Lee has withdrawn from the Meijer Classic with a left wrist injury and will also miss next week’s Ricoh Women’s British Open.

Lee, 24, won the Meijer Classic in Grand Rapids, Mich., for her first LPGA title last summer and then won her second title two months later at the Reignwood Classic.

“I’m very sorry that I won’t be able to defend my title at the Meijer LPGA Classic,” Lee said in a statement. “Meijer puts on a great tournament, and I wish I could play, but the injury to my left wrist will prevent me from competing this week and also next week at the Ricoh Women’s British Open.
