OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – At times frustrated and bewildered, Bryson DeChambeau looks the shakiest he has all week at the U.S. Amateur.
He’s still in the lead.
Even after uncharacteristic misses with his short irons and putter, DeChambeau moved ahead on the back nine with three consecutive wins and will take 2-up lead over Derek Bard into the second half of the scheduled 36-hole final at Olympia Fields.
DeChambeau, who had lost only nine holes all week, dropped three in a row on the front nine to Bard, a junior at Virginia who is ranked 51st in the country.
