DeChambeau finishes runner-up at Aussie Masters

Reigning U.S. Amateur champion Bryson DeChambeau came up two shots short of becoming the first amateur in history to win the Australian Masters.

DeChambeau shot a 4-under 67 Sunday to finish runner-up behind 56-year-old, three-time winner Peter Senior.

The 22-year-old ended up in a three-way tie for second with native Australians John Senden and Andrew Evans and immediately ahead of Adam Scott, who came in fifth.

The former SMU Mustang made five birdies Sunday against a lone bogey, posting rounds of 69-70-72-67.

“I call myself an amateur intern," DeChambeau told the Herald Sun.
