Day will remain No. 1 with high finish at Masters

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Even another victory at this week’s Masters might not be enough for Jordan Spieth to wrest control of the No. 1 ranking.

Only one scenario exists this week for Spieth to return to the top spot, according to Golf Channel world-rankings guru Alan Robison: Spieth must defend his title at Augusta and Jason Day has to finish worse than a two-way tie for fifth.

In other words, Day will remain at No.1 if he finishes no worse than a two-way tie for fifth, no matter how Spieth plays.
