NAPA, Calif. -- Jason Day will return to No. 1 in the Official World Golf ranking while he and his wife, Ellie, await the birth of their second child.
Day, who went to No. 1 for the first time in his career when he won the BMW Championship last month, fell from the top spot a week later when Jordan Spieth won the Tour Championship.
Neither player competed in this week's Frys.com Open, the first event of the 2015-16 season. Day is benefiting from his late-season efforts, which saw him win the Canadian Open, the PGA Championship, the Barclays and the BMW.
